Your clear motivation for organizing your home is felling good about walking in the door at the end of a hard day at work. You don't wish to face a cluttered home. Think of this motivation as being your "WHY" question - Step 1.
Fix yourself a time that you're gonna work on arranging your house. You can begin with 15-20 minutes each night, or dedicate one day on the weekend to do this. If you spend some time each evening starting out, you will find that it does not actually take that long, and you will start to see your home beginning to look organized quicker than you thought. A good example would be to grab towels or laundry as your heading towards of the washer and dryer and put it there. See? One pile already taken care of. This is your "WHEN" question - Step 2.
you have your plan, you've set aside your time. What room are you gonna start in? You can begin in the most cluttered room and work your way to the least-cluttered room, or go from the least-cluttered to the most. You may want to start in the room that everybody sees when they come to visit. The choice is up to you, but you have to find a room to start in. This is your "WHAT" question - Step 3.
Going through your belongings is a personal aim. Look at what you've, whether you actually use it, or is it anything that you have just kept. If you have no plans for it, have not worn it in a while, or do not fit into it anymore, maybe you should consider donating it or having a yard sale. When you're at this step, use containers, plastic bags, whatever you have handy. Separate the items, put them in bags, gather them up, and get them out the door. That is your "HOW" question - Step 4.
Following these four effortless steps will get things so straightened up that you will no longer be standing there at the end of the day saying to yourself "I wish someone would help me organize my home". You will be coming house and enjoying a peaceful evening doing what you wish to do.
